I waited a minute for my ex to stick up for me and put the mil in her place, but that never happened, so I came out of the bedroom and said hello to her. She became wide eyed and said “I didn’t know you were here” and I said “I can tell.” Then she said “well I better leave,” to which I responded “Yeah, you probably should.” After she left my ex was angry with me and put me in my place for “running her mom off.” That should’ve been my clue that my marriage wouldn’t survive.
