They’re never the best students, because they use grades as their only metric of success. Many won’t get the A that they so desperately need to keep their mental model of themselves intact. I do have some exceptional students who turn in tests before the end. I rarely “pack” exams; it’s not about how much you can write or how many questions I can ask.
