It’s one thing to have very high taxes and fees if you’re getting a quality local government experience with them. Chicagoans are not getting that. Streets go un-repaired, property crimes go un-investigated, and the public schools… Well, I teach at a private school in the city. There’s a thriving private school scene in Chicago, thanks entirely to the abysmal state of the public schools here.
