Either way, swimsuits suck, having to wear a top sucks, and “girl” swimsuits suck worse. Too bad. Sooner or later, she’ll have to get used to wearing a “gender appropriate” swimsuit in public. At 12, she’s probably a bit too far down the road to get away with just wearing shorts in the pool. Sorry kid. For what it’s worth, in my county the cutoff for girls being topless in public is age 10.
