I had a real hard time with him because of all the BS he had been through with an alcoholic father and such, and I did the same thing with my daughter because she pretty much became Mommy to my youngest when she was only 10. My husband was in yet another rehab and I had to work a lot to pay bills. Guilt will kick your arse every time. But I think the hardest part is having consequences you’re willing and able to follow through on. I always worried he would stand up and adamantly refuse when it got right down to it, but he didn’t - I’d have been screwed at that point.
