The ride home was surface and peaceful. We talked about various things. I thanked her for the opportunity to attend the conference. But knew I’d probably never be invited back. And by the evening, we all received a group text saying what a great time that was had and that what happened at the conference stayed at the conference. I never told my coworkers about what happened at the conference. I figure this was normal, acceptable behavior. I realize that this was why employees at my level aren’t invited to these types of conferences because the temptation to run back with gossip would be too great.
