I’ve told this before, but I once met up with a colleague from another department who was telling me how busy she had been - as a department chair, teaching classes, working on her own research, etc., etc. I asked her what she would do if one of those burdens were lifted from her shoulders. Her answer was that that would be wonderful because she had so many projects she wanted to work on but didn’t have the time. I think I know what she did on her summer vacations.
