The problem is also found in Australia but is much more severe in the USA. The basic problem is that highschool maths and science have been Michael Mousified. The supply of engineers has been compromised at source. Few Australian & USA-born students, regardless of ethnic background, have the confidence to take on Engineering. And even worse, it is not perceived as a good career choice.
